My How Things Have Changed

Well things are certainly different.  My writing is coming along excellently and we’re expanding the family.  Yes that’s right: Kat’s pregnant.  So that’s always a good things.  On a more downward note Microsoft has reinforced my undying disgust and general disappointment for them.  I have a copy of Vista Ultimate 64 and have all the right hardware to make it a killer system.  There’s just one problem: Vista doesn’t support my SATA controller so I can’t upgrade to Vista and use my nice fat SATA Terrabyte harddrive.  Not to mention I noticed something else in installing it on another computer: Windows Vista is not compatable with Windows Software namely the Zune program.  Which is stupid.  If a company makes two products wouldn’t it make sense that those two should work together?  Oh well.  Hopefully Windows 7 will be better.  They started work on it rather early I guess because Vista was such a letdown.  I’ll try to get my hands on a copy.  Wish me luck.

Vacation Time

Well not really.  The girls are off from school which means Jess, our exchange student, gets to help me clean house.  It’s day two of the vacation and we have done nothing but watch television.  1.1 is in florida with her father doing whatever it is that his parents want them to do but she did get to go swimming even though it was in a pool and still enjoyed it.  I wish I could say I have some extra time and could do something like learn to play my guitar or learn how to write a video game but I really don’t have any time to spare.  I’m taking time out to do this before I go back to cleaning the living room and cleaning the kitchen.  I’ve noticed myself taking on traces of my mother’s OCD and am getting quietly fanatical about keeping the house clean.  Fortunately she’s on medicine for it so you can’t eat off the floors anymore but it’s still remarkably spot-less especially considering that she and my step father work all the time.  She’s actually in Boston for a class with her job (I think anyway, on second thought I think she’s repairing more computers up there) and gets to get away from keeping up the house and such atleast for a little while.  I on the other hand have to worry about it everyday.  No matter how much I clean it gets messy again.  I just wish we could go somewhere this week since school’s out.  I may take Jess to the High Museum of Art downtown to see what all’s going on there.  Through next year they’re supposed to have exhibits from the Louvre and starting in November they’ll be playing host to a selection of the Terracotta soldiers from China.  Rui, our other exchange student from last year (who’s staying with us when she’s not a boarding school this year) wants to go when they get here.  I’ll say that I’m quite interested in it too.  Anyway.  I digress too much.  Now I’m not even sure what I was wanting to write about when I started but it looks like I have a pretty good entry anyway.  So Farewell and good bye.  I think I’ll take the rest of the day off and do a little writing on one of my numerous novellas I’ve started.

No I’m Not Dead

Well it’s been about six weeks since my last post and I’m sure many of you thought I had given up eather writing or living.  Nah.  I’ve just been busy.  1.1 is sick today so I’m nursing her back to health and figured I’d take a moment to regurgitate some of my life the past several weeks.  We’ve had our chickens and ducks (at least some of them) start laying eggs and we’re having lots of pound cake to celebrate (apparently this is the recipe she’s most fond of making with her new eggs) the first one being key lime and the second being plain.  We’re awaiting strawberries and whipped cream to make strawberry short cake.  In addition to new food stuffs we also had lightning strike and destroy several of our most beloved appliances including our cable modem, wireless router, stereo system and several others and all pretty major stuff including the two trees that are closest to our house.  Fortunately nothing has come down yet but that doesn’t mean it won’t.  Now it you’ll excuse me I’m going to kill my computer.  This few minute rant has taken me over twenty minutes to write because my computer keeps freezing up.  Windows Sucks!  Microsoft is an abomination that must be purged from the planet!

More Strange Occurrences

Knowing that I write about ghosts at times it’s not a surprise that I believe in them. Believing in your subject matter and doing extensive research really helps to give you a general understanding of a subject so you can better write about it. The past couple of days though there have been some strange occurrences here. Yesterday evening we were in the living room watching TV when we heard someone knocking on the door. Needless to say we were perplexed since we weren’t expecting anyone and it’s very rare for us to have visitors. I get up to go see who it is and when I open the door there’s no one there. I know it wasn’t a kid’s prank because they wouldn’t have been able to run fast enough to get out of sight from the time they stopped knocking to the time I opened the door. Now earlier tonight the bathroom door ended up closed. I’m not saying it was anything bizarre, but, the only time it’s closed is during the day so 2.0 won’t get in there and mess with the toilet paper or slip climbing into the bathtub. It is still possible that I did close it improbable as it is. The next occurrence was with the hall light. After I got done using the bathroom I turned off all the lights in the hall and living room, however, as soon as I get in the bed Kat points out the large pile of clothes which is right in front of the door. Now the door to our room has quite a few glass panels in it because it used to be a two car garage so our room is slightly lower then the rest of the house and we have that nice pretty door that you can see through, and as it turns out I see through that door that the hall light is in fact on again. I know I turned all the lights off because I had to walk slow so I wouldn’t trip over stuff or step on anything painful. Now I’m not saying we have ghosts because I have never felt like we do here and I have had ghostly experiences before and fairly recently. I’m just saying that something strange is going on here.

A Quick Update

I’m sure that some of you probably thought I was seized by the government for my last post but not yet. Things have been chaotic though. On the sixth we sent our exchange student Rui back home to China which totally sucked. We had her for ten months and still didn’t get to spend enough time with her. She’s doing fine in China though and my correspondence with Jes our next student I have discovered that she is mostly vegetarian. That’ll be interesting to say the least. It’ll probably put all of us on a better diet that’s for sure. 1.1 also had another wedding to be in as another flower girl which she pulled off perfectly. In between watching kids and taking care of the household tasks I’m trying to find time to write. I got a couple ideas from when we were at the wedding particularly about Butlers Bridge which is an interesting little road we went down on the way to and from the wedding. The night of the rehearsal dinner we took it home and noticed a path going down to the left that had a sign saying no through trucks so we assumed that was the way to the old bridge where they used to hang people. We went past it again twice and it’s not there anymore. Next weird place is the Seven Bridges in north Georgia. People say that when you drive your car down one way there’s seven bridges and when you drive back there’s only six. Interesting. I’ll let you know what comes up. If you have any weird occurances like that let me know. I’d love to hear about them. Be specific too because we travel as often as we can and who knows maybe one day we’ll be in your neck of the woods and stop by to see if it’s true. We go around Bryson City in North Carolina a lot and sometimes we go down towards Tampa and St. Petersburg in Florida. I’d love to hear about a few local myths and legends and who knows if I like it enough I may try to turn it into one of my many novels that I have yet to finish.

P.S.  In now reviewing this post I forgot to add one major detail.  After the wedding was over we drove up to the one remaining slave quarters on the plantation.  I walked in and stood still for a moment and then i realized something, there were foot steps on the floor above me.  Pretty strange occurrence especially considering that we were the last people on the property so I feel quite comfortable in saying it was a ghost.  Not to mention it gave me a real creepy feeling just walking in there.

I’ve Noticed Something

In doing some research on aliens for my book I made an interesting observation: a lot of the websites about aliens make the same accusations in many of them saying Egypt was founded by aliens and the Egyptian gods were aliens.  Quite the contrary.  Egyptian theology was a zoological institution which worshiped animals and cast their gods in the form of animals.  If these sites are going to make such accusations they could at least do some research first.  I have found lots of good stuff to use though about different kinds of aliens and what they look like although I already have mine in mind.

I’M BACK

After exactly one month of no posts I am finally back to my old self. I’ve been trying out all different kinds of medicines and most of them have knocked me on my ass. It’s been a hard struggle with both of us but it’s working out finally. Money’s kinda tight and I’ve lost my inspiration for writing but I’m still alive. Also if you are on this site you have probably figured out that some BASTARDS stole my domain name. I’m not really pissed about having lost it but having renewed in time and still losing it and having said BASTARDS put up a spam and garbage site is what really pisses me off. If it were someone who would put up a good site and take care of it I’d be okay but it’s not. I’m still busy taking care of two kids and trying to keep the house clean but I finally took a moment to update. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go change someone’s poopie butt.

Happy Birthday to Us!

Well it’s yet another year that I lose a chance at fame and fortune and a good publisher and on what should normally be a great day has started out to be shit. I woke up this morning being pushed out of the bed again after 1.1 had nightmares last night and climbed in bed with us. After I recover from my downward journey I go to get in the shower only to realize that we have no towels. Undeterred I resolve to use my nice soft terry cloth robe only to have it smell like my dirty socks yet I still persist unabated. Finally I make it through the toy booby-traps and get into the bathroom to see half a dozen ROACHES climbing all over the tub. I gave up after that. I sure hope 2.0 has a better birthday then I have so far.

On a positive note though 2.0 did take her first steps yesterday. She managed two steps before she freaked herself out. On a good and bad note I got the Camaro back from Florida but the Cougar’s FUBAR again. I have found work though but because of the hours and distance I don’t have time to cook or write anymore so while I’m getting money my dreams and aspirations are slowly slipping beyond my reach. Kat’s been very supportive, though, I’m just not sure if I’m cut out to carry so much on my plate. Eather way as it goes I have another psycho appointment on the 31st to try and find out if I’m psychotic or just the doctors are. If this one is anything like the last one then it’d be very possible that they’re the ones with the problems. The last one redefined the phrases bitch and bad doctor.

The American Dream

So when exactly did the American dream go from being about having a good job with good pay and being able to come home to a spouse, kids and a nice warm meal fit for a king but at the cost for a pauper? It seems like these days the American dream has morphed into a menagerie of disappointments and let downs beginning with working over forty hours a week to barely be able to afford gas to get to work to work the over forty hours with a side of reduced retirement prospects and the slow and eventual abolition of social security meaning that when Generation X gets old they’ll turn into Generation Octogenarian-seeks-third-full-time-job-to-pay-gas-to-work-first-two-jobs! Still it is America so I guess that stands for something, I just don’t quite know what yet. As I write this I’m looking for work and trying to figure out where I’m going to get the money to fix one of the four dead cars we have so I can actually get to it and be able to afford for Kat to get to her job during the day. If anyone knows of any needed freelance work (particularly in writing or editing but I’ll do assassinations too if they have good vision and dental coverage) then feel free to drop a line at my email link somewhere on the page. In the mean time remember to work hard, Uncle Sam needs your money to support his habit; after all it’s not easy trying to scam billions of hard working tax payers out of their money.

Bastards!

For those of you who saw my post that was apparently only up for only a few seconds before everything was gone but a new picture know all this but for those who don’t (which is pretty much everyone) we had problems with servage (Bastards!) and were forced to abandon them since they decided to lock up our websites so we couldn’t access them after they refused to automatically withdraw the required registration from our bank. As a result we still have all the sites and blogs but all the recipes and all my novels i was working on are completely gone so if you are considering servage as hosting your domain, don’t.
