Just an Update

We’ve now found out that there’s a Nestle recall for some tubs of cookie dough we have.  It carries one of the most dangerous strains of the e-coli bacteria.  We think that Kat has it and that’s what’s been causing her stomach cramping.  She’s had the diarrhea since she’s been off the pain medicine (appearently pain medicine causes you to become constipated) and if it’s progressed bad enough it can cause renal damage and get into the blood which is exceptionally dangerous.  If it did get into Kat’s blood there’s a large probability that it caused the miscarriage.  If it turns out that that’s the case I will do everything in my power to get Nestle shut down.  They would atleast pay for all the hospital visits and ideally if it did cause the miscarriage then I would say they would owe us a monetary value equivalent from the time the baby would have been born to the time it turned eighteen and was able to move out.  I can start at one billion a year.  Of course ideally that would be after taxes.  But that will never happen.  If the e-coli from the cookie dough caused everything we’d be luck to get them to pay half of the medical bills and we certainly wouldn’t get a value on a life.  The courts wouldn’t allow it.  They’re there to help big business and keep liability costs down.  That’s why Nestle is saying to throw away all possibly contaminated substances: there won’t be a way to trace the cookie dough if no one has any to test.

Just an Update

Things are not progressing as planned.  After a debacle Saturday morning with the baby coming out at home it made the D & C surgery easier on Kat but she is still suffering complications from it.  We’re currently at Piedmont and have been since about one O’ clock this morning.  She’s having terrible cramps that the doctors can only describe as being a result of the D & C.  After sitting in the ER for nearly twelve hours we finally get a room and meds that put Kat to sleep.  She’s going in and out now.  She woke up for a moment to ask me what I was doing and is already back snoring.  When she’s awake for a few more moments she keeps saying she’s still hurting.  All this money and we still can’t make it any better.  Fortunately she does have insurance now but it’ll only cover 80%.  20% on a surgery and an overnight hospital stay with lortab on the menu still comes up to a lot of money.  The only plus of it so far is that a meal was included with the room.  No promises we’ll get home tonight which means I won’t get my medicine because I’m not going to leave her up here by herself.  Hopefully one night will be alright.  If all goes according to plan though the nurse will be in to check in about forty-five minutes and we’ll be able to go home.  Wish us luck.

Cool Thing!

Cool thing happened yesterday evening: 1.1 lost her first tooth!  Kat pulled it right out.  Pictures to follow soon hopefully.

Just an Update

Kat’s still pregnant which is a good thing.  We heard the baby’s heartbeat yesterday which was very rapid but then again it’s supposed to be.  We’ve been stressing about it and to make matters worse we have a court date today and the attorney’s office has phones that are not working.  I don’t know if they packed up and closed down or what’s going on but it bothers me terribly.  The only thing we can do is hope everything’s alright.  Wish us luck.

Bad Week

Well let’s see.  Monday was ok I guess.  Tuesday wasn’t that great.  Well Monday was spent with me putting the new serpentine belt back on my engine because it slipped off again.  Tuesday it died though.  Not sure what happend but it started sounding and smoking like a tractor trailer and died completely about three hundred yards from the house.  A nice man named Franklin Cochran stopped and towed me to the house.  Wednesday we went car shopping and Kat got one in her name for ten grand.  That was with 1000 down so our savings account is depleated to just over 60 dollars.  Thursday we found out the insurance is going to be about 200 dollars a month.  Friday we took 2.0 to the hospital with bloody poopie.  The doctors said it was a food dye which we figured was spaghetti-o’s once the second diaper came out orange.  The first one being blood red still doesn’t convince me even after they checked for hemoglobin.  Today we went to the zoo and that’s the first time anything’s worked out this week.  So it must be getting better.  I’ll keep you posted so if things get better or worse you’ll know.

No I’m Not Dead

Well it’s been about six weeks since my last post and I’m sure many of you thought I had given up eather writing or living.  Nah.  I’ve just been busy.  1.1 is sick today so I’m nursing her back to health and figured I’d take a moment to regurgitate some of my life the past several weeks.  We’ve had our chickens and ducks (at least some of them) start laying eggs and we’re having lots of pound cake to celebrate (apparently this is the recipe she’s most fond of making with her new eggs) the first one being key lime and the second being plain.  We’re awaiting strawberries and whipped cream to make strawberry short cake.  In addition to new food stuffs we also had lightning strike and destroy several of our most beloved appliances including our cable modem, wireless router, stereo system and several others and all pretty major stuff including the two trees that are closest to our house.  Fortunately nothing has come down yet but that doesn’t mean it won’t.  Now it you’ll excuse me I’m going to kill my computer.  This few minute rant has taken me over twenty minutes to write because my computer keeps freezing up.  Windows Sucks!  Microsoft is an abomination that must be purged from the planet!

Wiiiiiii Fit

We finally found Wii Fit today.  After doing the initial startups and all it gave us an age of 20 for me and 45 for kat.  After a couple hours of playing and training we ended up with an additional four pounds of weight for me, an additional one pound for for kat, and increased BMI (body mass index) for both of us and an age of twenty four for me and thirty nine for kat.  So some how I got older and fatter after running a mile or so and doing yoga and lots of exercise.  Just goes to show what I always said: A sedentary carefree lifestyle will give you longer life than exercise and worry.  Saying exercise will extend you life is like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster.

More Stress

Let’s see mother’s day has come and gone with a high amount of stress and tension, yesterday there was an elevated level of stress with us worrying about Rui’s family with the earthquake, today we ran out of money and tomorrow we’ll have to wait and see what happens.  I guess it could always get worse but does it ever get better?  The good news is that with rising gas prices over the summer Kat will be able to drive into work and hopefully convince her bosses to give her a gas allowance so we can atleast afford some of it without having to rely on my parent’s fuel card and having them foot the bill.  I’m not the begging type so things are in really bad shape when I ask for help.  Oooh now that I think about it the annual trip to North Carolina is not this weekend but the next and we get to figure out how to pay for it.  Looks like I may have to resort to begging after all.  Wish me luck.

P.S. I put this under the politics category because the rising gas prices are directly corrolated to bad politics.

Things Have Gotten Weird Again

Since my last post we have lost two of our cayuga ducks, lost another cousin a few bits of wit and some car keys.  To really help with things Kat’s getting yelled at at work and causing her to stress which is never a good thing with sunburn.  Yes all my girls are sunburned.  To top things off I get to spend the weekend building a chicken coup with a 138% chance of rain so that’ll be lots of fun.  In more weird news Rui our exchange student is going on her first date.  They grow up so fast don’t they.  Now if I can pull myself together this weekend I’ll be okay but so far I don’t have time to do anything useful.  Maybe we’ll see if after Rui’s track meet her new boyfriend can bring her home so we can focus on building everything.  We’ll see.

The Anniversary Recap

Yesterday was our two year anniversary and I must say that aside from a bad dinner Sunday night the celebratory weekend went pretty well. Saturday we took our exchange student to take a major test in Norcross about an hour away and after that we got our cable TV hooked back up for the most part. While we were waiting for her to get done we went by Phoenix and Dragon and got me a new ring and over to Trader Joe’s for some Orangina. Sunday we had a day just to ourselves. We went to go see the Sweeny Todd movie which turned out to be far more gory then the usual Tim Burton movie. Before that we spent almost seventy buck on books at Barnes and Noble then after the movie we got Kat some new earrings and a Cinnabon. Finally we wrapped up the night by just relaxing and watching TV. Yesterday it was back to the same old routine except for having lunch at our little cafe. All and all a great anniversary weekend and a wonderful break form the normal.
