Bad Week
Well let’s see. Monday was ok I guess. Tuesday wasn’t that great. Well Monday was spent with me putting the new serpentine belt back on my engine because it slipped off again. Tuesday it died though. Not sure what happend but it started sounding and smoking like a tractor trailer and died completely about three hundred yards from the house. A nice man named Franklin Cochran stopped and towed me to the house. Wednesday we went car shopping and Kat got one in her name for ten grand. That was with 1000 down so our savings account is depleated to just over 60 dollars. Thursday we found out the insurance is going to be about 200 dollars a month. Friday we took 2.0 to the hospital with bloody poopie. The doctors said it was a food dye which we figured was spaghetti-o’s once the second diaper came out orange. The first one being blood red still doesn’t convince me even after they checked for hemoglobin. Today we went to the zoo and that’s the first time anything’s worked out this week. So it must be getting better. I’ll keep you posted so if things get better or worse you’ll know.
Bad Weekend
Seriously. This was one of the worse weekends I’ve had since I had to build the chicken house and put the kitchen floor down. We ended up going to the emergency room twice for 2.0. Saturday she fell and busted her lip on the hardwood floor in the living room and Sunday she had a severe allergic reaction to something. Yesterday we got a copy of her record from Barrow Medical (we were up in Winder for a party) and there were a few inconsistancies. For example they said she had no trouble breathing which is a flat out lie. It got to the point where she whe was wheezy and had pleanty of trouble breathing. They also said they took her temerature and O2 readings a second time before we left which is a lie. So far Barrow Medical is right up on my list of bad hospitals with Henry Medical and Southern Regional. Appearently it’s an American ideal that hospitals have to be bad. I don’t know why but it is. They have no sense of compassion or even common sense. Everything they do is slow and usually irrational. The doctors are usually good but in the case of this weekend the one at Barrow was just some black dude with a degree that didn’t really know what he was talking about. She still was in the middle of the reaction when he sent her home. It had cleared lots but was starting to break out again. One of the other doctors said to keep her for a little while longer but we were dicharged anyway. She’s ok now though which is all that matters. Oh also the doctor gave her an excessively high dosage of her medicine. He wrote down to give her one teaspoon four times a day when that is a dangerous dosage for her age. It should be one teaspoon per day which is what her PCP changed it to. So yeah that guy really agrivated me but fortunately we never have to see any of them again.
I Hate Doctors
It’s no secret that I despise doctors but the absolute worst ones are at Henry General Hospital right here in Georgia. All they ever do is pump you full of drugs and send you home. Twice now Kat has been in for severe pain and that’s exactly what they did. The first time was a few weeks ago with a kidney stone and the second was this past Sunday when she had a headache from hell and all the symptoms of Meningitis and all they did was gave her and IV with pain killers and salt water. To top things off my grandmother (my step mom’s mom) went down there and all they did for her was say they couldn’t help her. Come to find out she has Leukemia and about eighty percent of her bone marrow has become cancerous. They gave her two weeks to live and sent her home with morphine for the pain. To add to the list yesterday I went to the dentist and got poked and proded and got my teeth “cleaned” (in truth the feel rough and yuckier then they ever have in my life) and now I have new tooth pain that wasn’t there before. They also gave me the news that I’ll have to have a filling replaced and possibly a root canal and a crown if the filling doesn’t work. Luckily I don’t care at this point so they can just piss off. I feel the world would be a much better place without all the bad doctors and if they were replaced with ones who a.) know what they’re doing and b.) actually care about their patients.
Stupid Mexicans
Now I’m not a very racist person but given my experience with different races of people I can generally make some broad assumptions. One of them is that men of Latin American descent are pretty much worthless scum. This has been evidenced by many years of personal experience and reconfirmed last Thursday (not yesterday but Valentines Day) I had a stupid Mexican man clip and destroy my passenger mirror and take off running. Of course he didn’t have a tag and the police keep saying it’s not their jurisdiction so there’s nothing I can do about it. Not to mention I’ve been waiting for a call from the insurance company and they still haven’t gotten in contact with me. The worse part about that is that I have what is officially the best insurance company in the country. Needless to say I’m just a little aggravated about the whole thing. Just more reason to trumpet the need to get the illegals out of this country.
I Hate Christmas
I really do hate Christmas. It’s always busy and expensive and a lot of prep work for about one hour worth of enjoyment. After you spend your hour opening presents you spend two days cleaning up. And of course the Mrs decided that Monday was a good day to move the 600+ LB fridge across the kitchen which of course entailed moving the waterline and the only way to do that was to go in the rat infested attic and crawl around on your belly in rat shit and insulation in a space so tiny you can’t even clamber up onto you knees in. It meant the loss of one of my shirts. I loved that shirt. By the time I was finished it was ripped to bits and pieces. Anyway back to the holiday at hand. After the normal gift opening and mess making we had some of Kat’s friends visit who brought more gifts and mess making and a power wheels four wheeler for 1.1 and a motorized trike for 2.0 who is way to little for such a thing but I digress. After that we could not get down to our bedroom with all the stuff that we had so we ended up bulldozing half of it into other parts of the house (the rest got bulldozed today) and then went to my mothers house for more gift giving and mess making. The girls got lots of stuff that made noise and headaches and I got lots of stuff to clean up. Tomorrow I get to clean the kitchen which will be one hell of a job. The stove’s covered with stuff and so is the table and what we have left of counter tops which I need to put one of the dishwasher (without it the dishwasher’s top heavy and earlier today it fell on 2.0 which is always a terrifying experience) but before I can do that I need to get some L brackets to attach the counter to the wall.
Wierd Luck
I am certainly one for reading into things and I cannot deny the bizarre run of luck we have had lately. Although we have had a string of uncommonly bad luck we have also had a string of uncommon generosity. Last Tuesday night at 9:30 the Sheriff’s department was banging on the door to serve us with an order to appear in court about our yard. The guy we called about it was kind enough to give us a list of what needed to be changed which we corrected this weekend. He’ll be back out today to look at it and make sure everything’s okie dokie. Then not to be topped earlier that evening our water heater went out and had to be completely replaced. We were able to get back in touch with an old friend and he covered the entire expense of replacing it and put it in for us. Never to be out done I made the mistake of thinking that things were finally on the up-and-up when the sheriff’s department pulls in the driveway right behind us last night to say that we’re being sued by 2.0’s old daycare for $580 that we don’t have. We’ve resorted to begging for the money but we’ll be able to get it together fortunately. Its been a bit of a ride lately but on the plus the family’s really pulling together and getting close. I even got in touch with my estranged grandmother on my father’s side which is actually going well this time. On a lighter note I have yet another example of how women and men differ. Appearently we have different parts of the brain. For example women have a part of thier brain set aside for knitting which men do not possess. I know. I’ve tried. There is no way possible a man can knit anything. I was trying to help Kat make some stuff for 1.1 for christmas but to no avail. Alas life keeps going as it normally does. Now I just have to worry about how I’m going to pay everyone back.
I’M BACK
After exactly one month of no posts I am finally back to my old self. I’ve been trying out all different kinds of medicines and most of them have knocked me on my ass. It’s been a hard struggle with both of us but it’s working out finally. Money’s kinda tight and I’ve lost my inspiration for writing but I’m still alive. Also if you are on this site you have probably figured out that some BASTARDS stole my domain name. I’m not really pissed about having lost it but having renewed in time and still losing it and having said BASTARDS put up a spam and garbage site is what really pisses me off. If it were someone who would put up a good site and take care of it I’d be okay but it’s not. I’m still busy taking care of two kids and trying to keep the house clean but I finally took a moment to update. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go change someone’s poopie butt.
Work, School and Caffeine
Well it’s safe to say that life comes at you fast. Over the course of this weekend I had a small vacation, went an entire day without spending any money, built a bed and found a job. I’m sitting up at Kat’s work waiting for one of the sales guys to get in to take me to a new job right down the street. That’s all fine and dandy except for the fact that we still have only one car and 1.1 starts school today thirty miles away so Kat’s driving all that way back down there to drop her off with 2.0 sleepily in tow. The good news is that after a while we should have enough money to start traveling again. Not sure yet though if the next trip will be Britain or Prague. Anyway I digress to my usual ramblings and complaints of the general public. Now we all know that people do stupid things but there are some things that are not only stupid but defy logic, common sense and possibly child negligence laws. One such event happened yesterday when we noticed a four year old drinking coke out of a baby bottle which was intended for a little girl who appeared to be slightly older then 2.0 so just over a year. Now if a baby has coke in their bottle it will definitely rot their teeth before they grow in so that defies all three of the conventions I mentioned earlier. To top it off we noticed the mother drinking coke out of a baby bottle as well. Safe to say that some people shouldn’t breed and if they do by choice or mistake then they shouldn’t be allowed to raise the poor things. There’s plenty of good parents out there who can’t have children but want them and if they were allowed to have the children born to the bad parents then everyone can be happy and well educated.
Early Morning
It’s already starting out to be a shit day. It’s 5:09 am and I’ve already been up for two hours listening to two children fuss. Kat’s aunt had to go to Florida for a funeral which is fine I have no problem with helping with that but when the flight leaves 7:06 in the morning and you have to be at Hartsfield at least two hours before your flight leaves to clear security and all it’s a bit of a problem or everybody else that’s not traveling. I had to get up at 3 am to get both of the girls up and drive all the way to Atlanta and sit in the bad terminal traffic to drop her off. At current we’re sitting up at Kat’s work listening to the two children bicker and beg for more pictures to color and do everything possible not to go back to sleep. I think it’s a safe assumption that it’s going to be a very long day.
